Washington County Technical High School

Washington County Technical High School is a two-year technical school that prepares students for careers in 17 different career and technology programs, including biomedical science and pre-engineering. Programs prepare 11th and 12th grade students for professional/technical careers based on current industry skill standards. Thirteen out of the 17 career and technology programs are articulated with colleges. Approximately 4,000 students are enrolled in Career Technology Education (CTE) courses throughout WCPS. Over 170 business partners bring the real world to the classroom by providing summer employment for teachers and students, guest speakers for classes, field trips, student internships, and cooperative work experience.

Barr Construction Institute

Barr Construction Institute, the educational arm of the Associated Builders & Contractors, is committed to developing a safe workplace and a high-performance workforce through quality education and training. They offer professional industrial, commercial and apprenticeship trade training. In addition, they offer continuing education, management education, professional development, and safety training. Construction and maintenance training is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship & Training, and is accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (affiliate of the University of Florida).

Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics

In 2010, the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) located an FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) education program at HGR. With the skills PIA graduates acquire from the program, they can work in many industries including: aviation, mechanical systems, hydro-mechanical systems, and the green technology field.
